Who performs the operation
The most useful question you can ask any clinic abroad is the name of the surgeon who will operate on you. If the answer takes more than one sentence, that is the answer.
Medicine at Abant İzzet Baysal University. Specialty training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at Atatürk University in Erzurum and Ankara University. Operating surgeon at Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital in Istanbul since December 2023. Member of the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, listed in its public register.
You are assessed by me, operated on by me, and followed by me for a year afterwards. Not by a coordinator, not by a patient advisor, not by whichever surgeon is free that morning.

Which breast operations I perform
Breast augmentation — implants to increase volume and change shape. → Read more
Breast uplift — for breasts that have dropped after pregnancy, weight loss or time. An implant alone does not lift.
Breast reduction — for the back, neck and shoulder symptoms that come with weight the body did not ask for, as well as for shape.
Augmentation with uplift — the combination most often needed after pregnancy.
Implant revision — correction of an unsatisfactory or failed result, wherever it was performed.
Which of these you actually need is not always the one you arrived asking for. That is what the consultation is for.
Why patients come to Turkey — and what goes wrong
Cost is the reason most people give, and it is real. Private breast surgery in the UK is expensive and the NHS does not fund it.
What is less discussed is what patients lose in exchange, and it is usually not the surgery itself. It is everything around it: a surgeon they meet for the first time on the morning of the operation, discharge on day three, and no route back to anyone once they are home.
Those are avoidable failures and they are avoided by design, not by luck.

How long you stay in Istanbul
Six nights after the operation. Your final examination is in person, by me, the day before you fly.
Those nights cover the period in which the complications that matter actually appear — bleeding, infection, an early implant problem. A clinic that discharges you on day three is sending you home inside that window.
What happens after you fly home
You are followed for twelve months. Scheduled reviews at month one, three, six and twelve, and an open channel between them — a photograph, a question, a video call if the photograph does not settle it.
Every suture is dissolvable. There are no stitches to remove and no need to find a GP willing to deal with another surgeon’s work.
If a revision is needed, the hospital and operating theatre costs are ours.

Why there is no price on this website
Publishing treatment prices is not permitted for doctors in Turkey. I would not lead with one in any case — a number without a specification tells you nothing, and the cheapest packages are cheapest for reasons that are not printed.

Common questions
- Will I meet the surgeon before the operation?
- Yes, and before you book. The consultation is with me.
- How long do I need off work?
- Desk work, usually a week. Physical work, gym and running, four weeks.
- Will I have drains?
- In roughly nine out of ten of my breast operations, no. The decision is made during the operation, not before it.
- Do I need my stitches removed when I get home?
- No. Every suture is dissolvable.
- What if there is a complication after I am back in the UK?
- You call the numbers you were given and you are assessed the same day, by photograph or video call. If further surgery is needed, the hospital and theatre costs are ours.
- Do you speak Romanian?
- Yes — consultation and follow-up in Romanian, from the first message to the last review.
